Soh Chee Hui

(1967) graduated from the Nanyang Academy of Fine Art (NAFA) Singapore in 1990 and the University of East England, United Kingdom in 1996. His acrylics on rice paper are gentle to the point of the ethereal, completely disconnected from the temple structure itself and presented as if they are superheroes and heroines looming out of rich reds. These scrolls are archingly beautiful and in the preoccupation with the dynamics of light and shadow are presented to the viewer in the most genteel, unafraid, monochromatic terms.
